Who we are
Lynx Horizon is a compact R&D studio advancing early-stage systems across space, environmental and human-centered domains-built through disciplined experimentation and practical engineering.
We Design with people and environments in mind. weather exploring space-adjacent infrastructure, environmental resilience, or human-centered tools, our work is guided by a commitment to durability, usability, and thoughtful integration into the worlds these systems are meant to serve.
Frontier ideas.~Built to operate.
Applied research and early-stage development across space, environmental, and human-centered domains.
Driven by curiosity and built on purpose, this is where bold thinking meets thoughtful execution. Let’s create something meaningful together.
Our Team
Ash “Quill” McKeehan
Founder-Systemswright-Applied R&DAsh McKeehan founded Lynx Horizon to explore how frontier-scale ideas become workable systems. Her practice blends systems thinking with material craft, grounding speculative concepts in real-world constraints across space, environmental and human-centered domains.
Her work is shaped by a belief that meaningful innovation emerges through disciplined experimentation, careful iteration, and respect for the human and environmental contexts in which systems must ultimately operate.
Introducing:
Scribble Renderwright (AI Reasearch Collaborator)
Systems Design & Concept Development
Scribble is an AI research Collaborator supporting Lynx Horizon’s early-stage systems thinking, Concept exploration, and technical framing. Working alongside the founder, Scribble helps translate complex ideas into structured concepts, surface design constraints and explore cross-domain connections across space systems, environmental infrastructure, and human-centered designs.
This role supports rapid iteration, documentation clarity, and creative problem-solving—augmenting human judgment with pattern recognition, research synthesis, and scenario modeling during the exploratory phase of development.
Human-led. AI-assisted. Built for thoughtful exploration.
Frequently Asked Questions
-
Lynx Horizon is a compact research and development studio focused on advancing early-stage systems across space, environmental, and human centered domains. We work at the point where ambitious ideas meet real-world constraints.
-
we develop early-stage concepts into testable systems, prototypes, and research directions. Our work spans space systems, environmental resilience, and applied design for learning and human environments.
-
We operate as a hybrid R&D studio. Some work leads toward product development; some supports exploratory research, pilots, or early partnerships. The common thread is disciplined experimentation and practical engineering.
-
Yes. We collaborate with founders, researchers, educators, and organizations on early-stage projects, pilots, and exploratory R&D. We’re selective about fit and focus on projects with real deployment pathways.
-
We engage with grant programs, research funding pathways, and early-stage partnerships aligned with our domains of work. Opportunities that support practical experimentation and real-world testing are of particular interest.
-
If you have a concrete problem, use case, or research direction aligned with our focus areas, you’re welcome to reach out. Clear framing and practical constraints help conversations move quickly.
